The Koko Jazz Club operates under an umbrella of KokoTeatteri. The club has 200 seats. Koko Jazz Club is open every Thursday presenting 80 concerts a year. In 5 years we have had enough audience to pack the Olympic Stadium. We are a non-profit organization.
The Koko Jazz Club has two priorities. Firstly, to take care of our musicians and secondly to present top quality jazz for our audience with those musicians. Both these points are needed when aiming for a high standard in music. So far the list of performers is quite impressing. Joey Calderazzo, Jeff “Tain” Watts, David Liebman, Nasheet Waits, Jerry Bergonzi, Peter Erskine, Tim Hagans, Vic Juris and Peter Bernstein are only some of the jazz super stars in our book. The wide national jazz elite has made our growing and surviving possible. We humbly bow in front of the great Finnish jazz musicians.
We have a long-term cooperation with the great UMO Jazz Orchestra. Monday nights are pleasurable with the pearl of big band jazz.
On the last Sunday of every month the Club has Sunday Brunch. The brunch is all about being with the family, enjoying good food and live jazz.
We do public work with our summer series Koko kesä Kalliossa. The house orchestra, Koko Jazz Orchestra arranges songs from popular pop, slager and rock artists, and invites them to perform with the band. The success has been huge.
Our latest opening is an avantgarde jazz series for the beginning of the week. Koko Loft has found its audience. They have given positive feedback about the early show time 19.00. These concerts are often on Mondays.
